A YOUNG man was kicked and robbed of his iPhone after falling over while running away from two men.

The 20-year-old victim noticed he was being followed as he walked from Whistler Close into Holbein Road in Tilgate at about 5.50pm on March 7.

The two men shouted at and then chased him, leading to him running and falling over on the corner of Holbein Road and Hogarth Road.

As he tried to get up he was kicked and felt a knee being pushed into his back.

The men then went through his trouser pockets and took his mobile phone before running off into Gainsborough Road towards the playing fields.

The men are described as in their mid-twenties.

One was white, about 6ft and skinny, wearing a grey hoodie and jeans.

The other was black, shorter and stocky, wearing a black jumper, with a "chinstrap- style" beard with no moustache.

Detective Constable Kai Murray said: "This was a frightening ordeal but fortunately the victim suffered only a bitten tongue in the incident.

"The two men together are quite distinctive and we hope that someone may recognise them."

Anyone who witnessed the robbery or may recognise the men by their descriptions is asked to call police on 101.
