INJURIES: A man was treated at Crawley Hospital after his car collided with a police car

A POLICE car was involved in an accident this morning.

The Ford Focus, driven by a 32-year-old male officer from Crawley, was responding to a report of men kicking a door in Delrogue Road, Ifield.

The car collided with a Mini Cooper in Ifield Avenue at the roundabout junction with Warren Drive at about 10.25am.

The driver of the Mini, a 28-year-old man from Crawley, suffered whiplash and a bruised hand and wrist and was treated at Crawley Hospital. The road was closed while the incident was dealt with and reopened at 1.45pm.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 426 of 26/04.

Police are investigating the original incident where two men were kicking at the door and then left in what is believed to have been an Audi car. Anyone with information about that incident should call with the same reference as above or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
