A teenager has appeared in court accused of a spate of burglaries and car thefts across the town.

Nathan Brown, 19, is charged with carrying out four burglaries where cars keys were stolen from inside homes.

He is then accused of taking the cars from the owners' driveways.

Brown, from Orpington, south east London appeared at Crawley Magistrates' Court on Monday.

He is accused of entering homes in Crossway, Three Bridges, Hermits Road, Three Bridges, Greenacres, Furnace Green, and Arden Road, Furnace Green, all between April 2 and April 6 last year.

On each occasion he is alleged to have stolen car keys from the properties before stealing an Audi A1, a VW Golf, a Mercedes C250 and an Audi S4 from the driveways.

Magistrates committed the case straight to Lewes Crown Court and bailed Brown unconditionally until the next hearing on March 22.
