IN the Crawley News every week we have a Picture of the Week - taken by one of our readers.

To mark the launch of our new website www.crawleynews.co.uk we are now going to be publishing the photos online too.

And because we have been receiving so many wonderful photos over the last couple of weeks this week we went a little crazy and chose six Pictures of the Week this week.

And it was an animal special - with the town’s talented photographers getting out and about shooting photos of some of Crawley’s diverse wildlife.

The photo of a blue tit poking his head out of a bird house was taken by Jimmy Smith, 26, in the back garden of his Langley Green home.

The photos of the heron showing off his wings and the duckling drying himself off after a paddle were taken by regular contributor Josh Hunter, 18, from West Green.

The photo of the cat admiring himself in the mirror was taken by Ella Prior-King, a 13-year-old Manor Green College pupil from Copthorne.

The cat, Ben, belongs to her gran Jan Prior from Pound Hill.

The picture of the two loved up looking ducks was taken by Raveen Thinesh, 30, from Maidenbower.

The final picture, of a wasp flying in for some nectar, was taken by 16-year-old Holy Trinity CofE School student Jonathan Chappell-Seetayah in his back garden.

Your photo could be next week’s Picture of the Week. Send your snaps to editor@crawleynews.co.uk
