CHANGES to the way people park in Three Bridges are being put to residents..

People in the neighbourhood are being asked for their opinions on introducing a new controlled parking zone.

The controlled zone will mean there will be a restriction on the amount of time a car can be parked in one spot.

The changes, if they go ahead, are designed to ease congestion, improve safety and make it easier for residents and their visitors to park.

The zone is made up of around 20 roads, including Broomdashers Road, Gales Drive, Hazelwick Road, North Road, Priors Walk, Three Bridges Road and West Way.

A consultation period is being run until Monday June 15, and West Sussex County Council is urging all residents to have their say.

An exhibition will run at Three Bridges Football Club from Wednesday June 10 to Saturday June 13, from 10am each day.

The matter will also be discussed at the next East Crawley County Local Committee meeting on Thursday July 9 at Oriel High School, in Maidenbower.

I would like to say that parking at three bridges station is popular. There are people near by who drive to the station. I believe to ease the parking others can walk or cycle and let those who travel from a distance gain the priority of parking. And if this doesnt work then they should put the prices more up.

This is yet another idea from the council that is ill thought out. The problem needs sorting out at the source, Three Bridges Station - there is no extra parking at the station itself, and just changing the restrictions around the station will only move the problem a couple of streets away. Until proper parking is sorted out around the Station itself, this will always be a problem. This is made even worse at time when a rail replacement bus is operated, and there ends up being no parking at the station, because they use for buses. Customer care seems not to be in the remit of either the council or the rail operators!!!

i also do not live in Three Bridges, but in Northgate where i live the parking is horendous ... monday to friday due to inconsiderate commuters using our roads as a car park. leaving residents nowhere to park. the council shoul bring out Free permit parking for all residents in crawley. this was stopping our local streets from becoming car parks. apart from the pain of not being able to park outside your house there is a major issue of safety. having cars parked either side of the road , leaving a single track down the middle to drive through is dngerous at the best of times. but add in a few children crossing the roads inbetween all these cars is just asking for a disaster.

Although I do not live in Three Bridges it is noticeable that on-the-road parking is a problem when driving through. Especially bad is Mitchell's Road which must be a nightmare for 100 route 'bus drivers. This road is regularly clogged both sides with commuter parking.
