TWO people from Crawley have been injured in a car accident in which a woman died.
A blue Skoda travelling westbound and silver Honda heading eastbound collided yesterday just before 5pm on the A281 in Rudgwick, near Horsham.
The two people from Crawley, a 64-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman were in the Honda, although it is unclear at this stage how badly injured they were.
A 53-year-old female passenger in the Skoda, who has not yet been named, died at the scene.
The Skoda's 23-year-old driver was taken to Royal London Hospital with serious injuries.
A 57-year-old man, who was also a passenger in the same car, received minor injuries but did not need hospital treatment.
All of the occupants of the Skoda are reported to be from Elstead, in Surrey.
Emergency services arrived on the scene at about 5pm.
The road remained closed for several hours while a forensic examination of the scene was carried out.
